Tim Hortons, Canada’s largest restaurant chain, currently serves eggs and pork from farms that use battery cages and gestation crates, extreme practices that treat chickens and pigs like machines. Other major fast food chains have already abandoned these practices.
Damn true. And what I find hilarious is that when that ice cream shop a few years ago started selling ice cream made from human breast milk, so many people were disgusted. Yet we drink milk from another species, complete with pus and antibiotics, that wrecks havoc on the environment, that causes immense distress for the animals and (most) labourers involved, and that we have no nutritional need for.
If we eat the plants we grow instead of feeding them to animals, the world's food shortage will disappear virtually overnight. Remember that 100 acres of land will produce enough beef for 20 people but enough wheat to feed 240 people.
