Please help me o: i'm veggie and i want to be vegan now, but my parents are against be vegan because thay say thats not healthy and i must drink milk and eat eggs -.- but i don't want... well i can't eat/drink milk and eggs anymore it really disgusts me and you're right with "chickens are treated like robots nowadays" and cows too :/ so any advice how i can show my parents that to be a vegan is healthy o: i really want to be vegan and stop eating animal products ( sorry for my bad english)
Well my parents are exactly the same, but I don’t care, it’s my mouth and my body, I have the right to have control over what I put into it, and so should you.
You could buy some almond/soy/rice/coconut milk and show them how a glass of that has more calcium than a glass of milk, without the cholesterol, chemicals, hormones and fat.
For eggs, I really don’t know. I would just explain to them what an egg really is, and how it isn’t even appealing to you.
They can’t force you to eat food you don’t want to.
Good luck, I really really really hope you’ll decide to become vegan!! <3
I've been wondering for a while and I reckoned I'd ask you because I dont really know any vegans properly. I understand that you're against killing other animals, but why not eat eggs? Is it purely the captivity they're kept in or are there other things?
I don’t eat them because of the cruelty that goes into producing them. Chickens are treated like robots nowadays. I don’t even eat eggs from my own farm, it disgusts me. Eggs are chicken periods. When you crack it open do you ever see that little white dot? That’s the ova. Also they’re full of cholesterol and animal protein, both are so bad for your body.
“Meat-eating societies are also the main cause of world hunger. In America, we continually feed around 70 percent of our corn, wheat, oats and soy to billions of farmed animals instead of starving people! Every two seconds, someone on this planet dies from malnutrition while pigs and cows get fat. Consequently, meat-eaters are anti-human because feeding billions of animals instead of millions of hungry children is an indirect form of genocide.”—
“A man can live and be healthy without killing animals for food; therefore, if he eats meat, he participates in taking animal life merely for the sake of his appetite. And to act so is immoral.”—Leo Tolstoy (via animalsandtrees)
